I’m one of those who hate to live with the run of the mill software provided by the notebook manufacturers , I want my machine to be mine with my stuff no Dell or HP stuff so everytime I buy a new machine , I install my own stuff on it starting with Win XP Pro but on my latest 6182 EA , installing OS was a complete disaster and took me 2 days to figure out the way , first when I tried for a fresh install from scrap got the message that hard disk not found , what my new 80 gb Toshiba hard disk not found , a little googling revelaed that I have a SATA drive and XP being old does not recognize SATA and I need to have a floppy installed to run it , now for me floppy is so 1900’s so I again googled for a way out and stumbled upon NLITE a excellent utlity to preinstall drivers on XP even make it run by all itself by pre defining the key and all the things I want such as no games and support for Asian languages etc , it even makes a bootable ISO . So I finally installed XP and all the drivers but wait my ordeal was not over HP has some high definition Audio by Conexent which I am still trying to figure out will post updates as they happen
UPDATE : I have finally fixed my machine , the UAA drivers from MSFT were to be unisntalled first and then the latest to be reinstalled and after that I went to Device Manager and searched for devices and everything worked . For the black look , I also found Noir Royale theme of microsoft which I have installed for a beautiful black look on my black machine will post more updates when available
